The car presented is an Alfa Romeo 2500 SS with convertible bodywork by Ghia.

It was delivered new to Alfonso Cabeza de Vaca, Marquis of Portago. The rolling chassis # 915 592 left Alfa Romeo on September 30, 1947 and was delivered to Ghia from where it emerged on June 11, 1948 dressed as a convertible. It was fitted with the 2500 SS # 923.702 engine, which it still has.

The Marquis de Portago used it for his pleasure trips until his death at the Mille Miglia in 1957. The car was then sold by his relatives to an excellent French mechanic who used it for fifteen years. before putting it back.

Having left for the United States to be exhibited, it returns to us in its exceptional original condition. An emblematic owner, a second owner for half a century, it is almost impossible to find such a marvel these days.
